On November 2nd, beloved KYZEN employee, TC Loy, finally began his long awaited quest to climb Mount Everest. After two years of preparation and delays due to Mother Nature, TC and a group of friends set out for Lukla, in Northeastern Nepal where they were welcomed to the Himalayas (near Mount Everest) by the locals to begin their journey. It’s interesting to note that TC and all groups have to hike to Namche Bazaar (11,482 feet) for two days and two nights to acclimatize before continuing to the South Mount Everest Base Camp to try to prevent altitude sickness. On November 13th and eight stops up the mountain, TC made it to Kala Patthar (TC pictured with KYZEN flag). Kala Ptthar means ‘black rock’ in Nepali and Hindi and is a notable landmark located on the south ridge of Pumori in the Nepalese Himalayas. |
On November 14th, TC hiked to the Southern Facing Base Camp on Everest Nepal which measures 17,598 feet! TC planted the KYZEN flag as way to honor his KYZEN family in Malaysia and all over the world. TC said, “I am especially grateful to my manager and co-workers because without their support and willingness to help with my work responsibilities while I am away, I would not have been able to fulfull one of my lifelong dreams”.
TC will head back on November 27th, but before he does, he will visit Kathmandu, Bandipur and Chitwan – Nepal’s First National Park. This is TC’s first climb above 5000m, but has climbed Mount Kinabalu, Sabah and Jade Mountain in Taiwan. TC has been a Sales Manager with KYZEN in Malaysia for almost 7 years and specializes in cleaning processes for the electronics and industrial industries. |
